Race Info
Please read your benefit and safety:
LOCATION - See maps of the Start/Finish
areas and the Course.
TIME - Registration opens 9.30am. For entries on the day and closes
at 10.45am., 15 mins before the start of the race
Race starts 11.00am, Presentations at 12.30pm
RACE HQ – Located in the Students Centre within the UWE
grounds.
CHANGING - No changing and showering facilities are available.
PARKING – Ample free parking is available on the campus.
START – The run starts within the UWE grounds close to
the Students Centre. Runners
to congregate behind the start line five minutes prior to the start time
to allow a prompt start.
RACE NUMBERS –Your race number must be pinned to the FRONT
of your vest or T-shirt.
SPECTATORS - The best places to watch the race is the start/finish
within the UWE grounds. However there is also excellent
viewing throughout Oldbury Court, at Frenchay Bridge and on Frenchay Common.
For safety's sake - keep off the road, follow the instructions of the
marshals, and do not obstruct the runners or race officials. Please give
every runner your warm support.
WATER
STATION - Water
will be available at a water station in Gill Avenue.
TOILETS – Portable toilets are available outside of the
Students Centre. Limited facilities are available in
the centre. There are public toilets in Oldbury Court, just past the playground,
approaching the exit and the 4K marker.
FINISH – Chip timing is being used for the run. You need to ensure that you cross the mats on the finish line to ensure your time is recorded. If non disposable chips are used you need to remove them in the finish area and place them in the collection bins provided. There is a water
station after the finish.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE - First Aid posts are situated at the start
/ finish area and on patrol around the course.
IF YOU EXPERIENCE DIFFICULTY - STOP RUNNING AND SEEK OUT THE NEAREST MARSHAL
AND REQUEST HELP. A vehicle will be available to pick up entrants
who are unable to complete the course and will return them to the start/finish
area. If you do drop out it is important you assist us by reporting your
name and race number to one of our marshals.
AWARDS PRESENTATION - will be held in the Students Centre at
12.30pm.
RESULTS - Provisional results will be displayed in the UWE Students
Centre on the day and posted on this website as soon as possible.
Cancellation policy - The Race Referee and Event Organiser have the right to cancel the event if the need arises, for example due to adverse weather conditions on race day, or a local incident that prevents access to the UWE Glenside Campus. In such circumstances, all proceeds less event costs incurred will be donated to this years nominated charity.
If the event is cancelled due to insufficient numbers of participants or the necessary volunteers required in order to make the event financially viable and operate with ARC rules, then the Frenchay 10 charity run committee has the right to cancel the event in which case event fees (excluding booking fee) will be returned to all participants.
